If you want to increase the length of your life, surely you need to start eating more nuts and it is good to do it every day. Include raw walnuts in your menu first. A new study published in The New England Journal of Medicine found that regular consumption of nuts can reduce the risk of death by 20 %. The data are summarized on the basis of a study involving 76,464 women and 42,498 men.

In previous studies has been established an inverse correlation between the consumption of nuts and the development of a number of chronic diseases, including diabetes mellitus type II, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, and other inflammatory conditions. This has given the researchers to continue studies to see how this type of food affects the overall lifeduration. They conducted two large, independent studies: The first include 121,700 nurses involved in 1976, and the second - 51 529 health professionals involved in 1986. They have determined the dietary intake of their patients through special quest every two years.

By the final results were excluded patients with a history of cancer, heart disease and stroke, as well as those who have not indicated their level of physical activity, anthropometric measures and their quantity consumed nuts. Final were studied 76,464 women and 42,498 men. The study demonstrated that men who ate nuts once a week, reduced their risk of death by 11% compared to those who do not consume nuts. Consuming two to four times a week nuts reduce this risk by 13 %. People who include nuts in their diet 5-6 times per week , having a lower risk of mortality with 15 % and with 20 % increased chance of a longer life those who eat nuts seven or more times a week.

The results reported that this extremely useful food is good for people suffering from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, and reduce the risk of developing cancers.

So feel free to include a variety of nuts in your daily menu. Try to eat them not heat-treated, which destroy much of their useful substances.
